Our tours are designed for travelers who are comfortable with daily mobility. Each day offers the opportunity to explore a new town or village, which may involve walking for up to an hour or more. This walking can occur on uneven terrain, including navigating stairs, and often requires getting in and out of vehicles. While the pace is manageable, it is essential that you can walk independently with the group and do not require assistance.

Transfer to a local restaurant where you’ll savor a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk to the famous Cascade complex—an open-air museum of contemporary art and sweeping views of the city. You’ll have free time to explore the area at your own pace before returning to the hotel.

Continue the journey to Noravank, a magnificent 13th-century monastery nestled in a dramatic red-rock canyon. Following lunch, travel to the spa town of Jermuk, known for its natural mineral waters and mountain air. Upon arrival, check in at the Grand Resort Jermuk Hotel and unwind during the afternoon with time to rest or enjoy the resort’s recreational offerings.
In the early evening, take a pleasant walking tour through Jermuk, visiting the mineral water gallery and experiencing the town’s therapeutic charm. Return to the hotel for dinner.

From there, enjoy a leisurely boat ride across the lake to reach the lakeside restaurant where lunch is served with panoramic views and the fresh breeze of Sevan.

The afternoon leads to the Armenia-Georgia border. After completing border crossing formalities, we’ll meet our Georgian guide and driver, who will accompany us through the next phase of our journey. Begin with Jvari Monastery, a remarkable 6th-century cross-shaped church situated high on a cliff, offering stunning views of the surrounding rivers and valleys. According to legend, this is where St. Nino, the female evangelist who brought Christianity to Georgia, erected a wooden cross on the site of a former pagan temple.
Continue to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, dating back to the 11th century. This fortified cathedral is one of the most important religious sites in Georgia, believed to house the buried Robe of Christ. Today, we journey into Kakheti, one of the most picturesque and fertile regions of Georgia. What will the weather be like?
June weather in Armenia and Georgia is generally warm, sunny, and pleasant—ideal for travel.
• In Yerevan, daytime temperatures typically reach around 86°, with cooler nights averaging 59°. Days are long and mostly sunny, with clear skies about 73% of the time.
• Tbilisi sees slightly milder conditions, with highs around 81–82° and lows of 59–61°F. June is one of the sunniest months, offering over 11 hours of sunshine daily.
What should I wear?
Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal—think cotton shirts, linen pants, and comfortable walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for daytime outings, and a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. An umbrella may be useful for the occasional shower. Modest attire is recommended when visiting religious sites, such as monasteries and churches.
Do I need to get any vaccinations?
All travelers should be up-to-date with all routine vaccinations. You may also consider vaccinations for Measles (if not already current), Rabies, and Hepatitis A & B. Consult the Center for Disease Control website for current recommendations for travel to Armenia and travel to Georgia. Check with your physician at least 30-60 days before travel.
Are there any special requirements/documents I need to visit Armenia or Georgia?
There are no special requirements to enter Armenia or Georgia. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel date to Rwanda.
What about airfare?
International airfare is not included in the package. We can assist with reservations for a service fee of $75 per person. (Service fee is waived for WOW! Travel Club alumni.)
Will I need an adapter to plug in my appliances and chargers?
In both Armenia and Georgia, you’ll need a travel adapter for type C and type F plugs.The standard voltage in Armenia and Georgia is 230V, and the frequency is 50Hz. A type C plug has two round pins, while a type F plug has two round pins and two side grounding clips. Type C adapters are used all over Europe and can work in a type F outlet for low wattage devices (phone chargers, ipad chargers, laptops, etc.), but are not recommended for high-wattage devices (hair dryers, irons, etc.). NOTE: regardless of your adapter type, U.S. hairdryers should NOT be used with an adapter. Hair dryers are available at all hotels and lodges.
Can I use my cell phone in Armenia and Georgia?
With most providers, activating an international data and telephone plan is best. We suggest you contact your carrier to discuss potential data and voice communications costs.
What is the currency?
In Armenia, the official currency is the Armenian dram (AMD), with recent exchange rates (as of June 2025) averaging around 385–400 AMD to 1 USD. While credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops in Yerevan, cash is still commonly used, especially in smaller towns and markets. In Georgia, the currency is the Georgian lari (GEL), with 1 USD equaling approximately 2.6–2.7 GEL. Credit cards are commonly accepted in cities like Tbilisi, though having cash on hand is useful for smaller purchases or when traveling in rural areas. Bank-associated ATMs are available and generally charge a better exchange rate than an exchange office.
