DAY ONE – Monday, November 2nd – Beijing – Arrival

Upon arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport, you will be warmly greeted at the air bridge by our local team, who will be holding a sign with your name. Our team will assist you swiftly through customs and immigration formalities before you transfer in comfort to Waldorf Astoria Beijing, located in the heart of the city’s cultural center.

Due to varied arrival times, dinner will be on your own, with plenty of dining options close by.

DAY TWO – Tuesday, November 3rd – Beijing

Your day begins with a delightful glimpse into Beijing’s traditional way of life through a rickshaw tour of the city’s historic hutongs—narrow alleyways that wind through ancient courtyard neighborhoods. As you ride through these charming lanes, you’ll enjoy a close-up view of neighborhood life, passing by lively markets, doorways adorned with red lanterns, and elders playing mahjong or sipping tea. This peaceful journey offers an authentic insight into the city’s old soul, often overshadowed by modern skyscrapers.

After the morning adventure, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant nestled within the hutongs, where you’ll savor regional specialties like handmade dumplings, stir-fried noodles, and crispy duck pancakes.

In the afternoon, we will step into imperial history with a guided visit to the Forbidden City, the world’s largest ancient palatial complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once home to emperors and off-limits to outsiders for 500 years, this sprawling compound of crimson walls and golden roofs reveals China’s rich dynastic past. Walk in the footsteps of royalty through ornate halls, throne rooms, and gardens filled with symbolism and grandeur.

After a full day of exploration, we will gather for dinner at a local favorite, where traditional Chinese dishes are elevated with a modern twist.

DAY THREE – Wednesday, November 4th – Beijing

After breakfast, we’ll depart Beijing for a truly special day exploring one of China’s most spectacular treasures—the Simatai section of the Great Wall. Considered one of the most dramatic and authentic stretches of this world-famous landmark, Simatai offers breathtaking mountain scenery, ancient watchtowers, and a chance to experience the Wall in a more peaceful setting. Along the way, we’ve planned a special surprise that will make this visit even more memorable.

As you walk this remarkable feat of engineering, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for its history, strategic importance, and enduring legacy while enjoying panoramic views that stretch across the rugged countryside. A picnic lunch will be served during our excursion, allowing you to relax and soak in the extraordinary surroundings.

After our time on the Great Wall, we’ll unwind with a relaxing 60-minute traditional foot massage—the perfect reward after a day of exploration. We’ll then return to our hotel in Beijing, where the remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy. Dinner is on your own tonight, giving you the opportunity to discover one of the city’s outstanding restaurants or simply relax after an extraordinary day.

DAY FOUR – Thursday, November 5th – Beijing

Start your day with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing’s most beautiful and iconic landmarks. Stroll through its expansive grounds, where locals gather to practice tai chi, play traditional instruments, and socialize beneath ancient cypress trees. The magnificent Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, where emperors once prayed for prosperous harvests, stands as a masterpiece of Ming Dynasty architecture and an enduring symbol of China’s imperial past.

Following our visit, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you’ll sample authentic regional specialties before returning to the hotel.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Relax at the hotel, indulge in a spa treatment, or venture out to explore Beijing’s fascinating neighborhoods, museums, or markets at your own pace.

This evening, we’ll gather for a spectacular Imperial Banquet Dinner at Gong Palace Restaurant, accompanied by a traditional cultural performance. Inspired by the lavish feasts once enjoyed by China’s emperors, this memorable evening offers exquisite cuisine, elegant surroundings, and captivating entertainment, providing a truly unforgettable introduction to Beijing’s rich imperial heritage.

DAY FIVE – Friday, November 6th – Beijing, Xi’an

Today, we are heading to Xi’an. We’ll start with breakfast at the hotel to fuel up for the journey ahead, including a transfer to the airport for our flight to Xi’an, one of China’s most historically significant cities.

Upon arrival in Xi’an, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to the elegant Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel. After checking in, take some time to settle in, freshen up, and relax before the evening’s activities.

As the sun sets, we will gather for a special dinner at our hotel featuring regional cuisine.

DAY SIX –  Saturday, November 7th – Xi’an

Are you ready to cross this off your bucket list? Today we’ll visit one of the most extraordinary archaeological discoveries of the 20th century—the Terracotta Warriors. Prepare to marvel at thousands of life-sized soldiers, horses, and chariots that were buried more than 2,000 years ago to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Each figure is uniquely crafted, standing in silent formation as an incredible testament to ancient China’s military power, artistry, and engineering.

Following this unforgettable experience, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you’ll sample Xi’an’s famous regional specialties, including hand-pulled noodles, lamb skewers, and savory dumplings.

This afternoon, we’ll explore Xi’an’s vibrant Muslim Quarter, one of the city’s most colorful and lively neighborhoods. Wander through bustling streets lined with traditional architecture, local food vendors, artisan shops, and fragrant spice stalls while experiencing the unique blend of Chinese and Islamic cultures that has flourished here for centuries. It’s the perfect place to soak in the atmosphere, browse for souvenirs, and sample local delicacies.

This evening, we’ll gather for dinner at a local restaurant, where another delicious meal provides the perfect ending to a day immersed in the history, culture, and flavors of Xi’an.

DAY SEVEN – Sunday, November 8th – Xi’an, Chengdu

Enjoy a leisurely morning and a relaxed breakfast at the hotel before preparing for your journey to Chengdu.

Later in the morning, we will transfer to the train station to board the high-speed bullet train to Chengdu. As we travel across the scenic Chinese countryside, you will enjoy a boxed lunch on board.

Upon arrival in Chengdu, we will transfer to the St. Regis Chengdu, located in the heart of the city. After checking in, you will have some time to settle in, unpack, and unwind after the day’s travels. The hotel’s central location makes it easy to relax or explore nearby shops, parks, and cafés.

This evening, we’ll gather for a traditional Sichuan hot pot dinner, one of Chengdu’s most iconic culinary experiences. Cook an assortment of fresh meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles right at your table in a simmering broth that can be as mild or as boldly spiced as you choose. It’s a fun, interactive meal and the perfect introduction to the vibrant flavors that have made Sichuan cuisine famous worldwide.

DAY EIGHT – Monday, November 9th – Chengdu

This morning, we will embark on a scenic 90-minute drive to the Panda Base near Qingcheng Mountain, a tranquil and wooded sanctuary renowned for its successful giant panda conservation efforts. You will have the opportunity to observe these beloved creatures in a semi-wild environment as they eat, nap, and play. It’s a heartwarming and moving experience that showcases the gentle charm of China’s most iconic animal.

After we visit the panda reserve, we will enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant near the mountain. Expect warm hospitality and regional dishes that highlight the fresh flavors of Sichuan countryside cuisine. Following lunch, we will begin our return journey, arriving back in Chengdu by mid-afternoon.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore as you wish. You might choose to relax at the hotel, immerse yourself in Chengdu’s vibrant teahouse culture, or browse the boutiques and local markets nearby.

In the evening, we will regroup for a memorable dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY NINE – Tuesday, November 10th – Chengdu, Guilin

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll transfer to the airport for our mid-morning flight to Guilin, a region renowned for its breathtaking karst mountains, winding rivers, and spectacular natural scenery. Upon arrival, we’ll be met by our local guide and travel to the beautiful Banyan Tree Yangshuo, a luxurious riverside retreat nestled among the region’s iconic limestone peaks.

Before checking in, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample the fresh, regional flavors that make Guangxi cuisine so distinctive. Following lunch, we’ll head to the resort to settle into your room and take some time to unpack, relax, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

This evening, we’ll gather for dinner at Baiyun Restaurant, located within the hotel. Showcasing beautifully prepared local and regional specialties in an elegant setting, it’s the perfect introduction to the remarkable landscapes and warm hospitality of Yangshuo.

DAY TEN – Wednesday, November 11th – Guilin

After breakfast, we’ll set out for one of the most scenic experiences in all of China—a leisurely cruise along the Li River. Departing from Guilin, we’ll glide through a breathtaking landscape of soaring limestone karst peaks, tranquil waters, and picturesque countryside. Around every bend, a new panorama unfolds as mist-covered mountains rise dramatically above the river, bamboo groves sway along the shoreline, and water buffalo graze beside emerald-green rice fields. This spectacular journey has inspired Chinese artists and poets for centuries and is widely considered one of the most beautiful river cruises in the world.

A delicious lunch will be served on board, allowing you to relax and savor the scenery from the comfort of the boat. Keep your camera close, as you’ll pass many of the Li River’s most famous rock formations and idyllic villages where life continues much as it has for generations.

After this memorable full-day excursion, we’ll return to our hotel to relax before gathering for dinner together at the hotel, where we’ll reflect on another extraordinary day exploring the natural beauty of China.

DAY ELEVEN – Thursday, November 12th – Guilin

Today, we head to the charming riverside village of Fuli Ancient Town, a place where more than 800 years of history come to life. Stroll along cobblestone streets lined with traditional homes, browse the lively local market, and experience a way of life that has changed little over the centuries. Fuli is renowned as the “hometown of Chinese painted fans,” and during our visit, you’ll take part in a hands-on fan-making experience, learning about the artistry and craftsmanship that have been passed down through generations.

We’ll then enjoy lunch at Luna Café, a welcoming local restaurant where you’ll sample fresh regional cuisine before continuing to one of Guilin’s most spectacular natural attractions.

This afternoon, we’ll travel to the breathtaking Ruyi Peak Cableway. This scenic journey carries you high above Guilin’s dramatic karst landscape, revealing panoramic views of emerald mountains, winding rivers, and towering limestone peaks that seem almost otherworldly. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable photos while taking in one of China’s most remarkable landscapes.

After returning to the hotel, you’ll have time to freshen up before we gather once again for dinner at Yue Shunge Restaurant. It’s the perfect way to conclude another memorable day, sharing stories and enjoying delicious local cuisine in the company of fellow travelers.

DAY TWELVE – Friday, November 13th – Guilin, Shanghai

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll bid farewell to Guilin’s spectacular countryside and begin our journey toward Shanghai. Before heading to the airport, we’ll visit the remarkable Reed Flute Cave, one of China’s most celebrated natural wonders. Often referred to as the “Palace of Natural Arts,” this magnificent limestone cave is filled with soaring chambers, dramatic stalactites, and stalagmites, all beautifully illuminated to highlight their incredible shapes and colors. It’s a fascinating glimpse into a natural world that has been millions of years in the making.

Following our visit, we’ll enjoy lunch at a restaurant within the LiJiang Waterfall Hotel, offering a final opportunity to savor the flavors of Guangxi before continuing our journey.

This afternoon, we’ll transfer to the airport for our flight to Shanghai, China’s dynamic financial and cultural capital. Upon arrival, we’ll make our way to the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel, an Art Deco masterpiece overlooking the famous Bund. After checking in, take some time to settle into your room or enjoy a stroll along the nearby waterfront.

Dinner is on your own this evening, giving you the freedom to explore Shanghai’s exceptional culinary scene or simply relax in the hotel’s elegant surroundings.

DAY THIRTEEN – Saturday, November 14th – Shanghai

The day begins with a visit to the beautiful Yu Garden, a masterpiece of classical Chinese landscape design. Dating back more than 400 years, this tranquil oasis features elegant pavilions, koi-filled ponds, zigzag bridges, and beautifully manicured gardens that provide a peaceful contrast to Shanghai’s bustling streets. Nearby, you’ll have time to soak in the lively atmosphere of the surrounding bazaar, filled with traditional architecture, tea shops, and local artisans.

Next, we’ll head to the Shanghai Tower, China’s tallest building, where an ultra-high-speed elevator whisks us to the observation deck for breathtaking panoramic views of the city. From this remarkable vantage point, you’ll appreciate the incredible scale of Shanghai, where historic neighborhoods and futuristic skyscrapers blend into one unforgettable skyline.

In the late morning, we’ll roll up our sleeves for a hands-on Chinese cooking class. Guided by local chefs, you’ll learn to prepare several authentic dishes using traditional techniques before sitting down to enjoy the delicious lunch you’ve created together.
